The following two maps can be used to manipulate various factors contributing to and as a result of teenage pregnancy in La Paz, Mexico. In contrast to the two maps comparing quality of life and the over 15 populations throughout the city, the layered map and the social services map can be used to quickly display different data sets, creating maps that specifically address the needs of the map user.

PDF Map with Layers
Unlike the static maps of teenage pregnancy, this PDF map with its different layers allows you to see the issue through many different variables. This map offers layers to show hospitals, health clinics, and family planning centers by neighborhood which can be compared to data on the numbers of women who were pregnant teens, the number of women who reported no access to formal sex education, and those who would like to continue their education if they had the opportunity.

Map of Social Services

With an understanding of which areas of La Paz are seeing the highest rates of teenage pregnancy as well as which areas have a vulnerable population it is beneficial to compare this information to the services currently available in the area. In this way, it becomes clear which areas of the city are lacking adequate social services and which areas the services in place may not be very effective. By keeping up to date statistics, the city of La Paz would be able to adjust its social services to provide them only where they are most needed.
