- STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS
- You are going to choose a Website to associate with your chosen place
- It should contain information related to your chosen place.
- The Step-By-Step Instructions given below describe the process of obtaining an image's Web address.
- Step-By-Step Instructions
- Choose Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, or Google to perform your search (Search engines not included here are okay too!).
- Enter a few words to accurately describe your chosen place and click the "Search for Websites " button.
- A separate window will pop up with the resulting list of Web links.
- Determine if any of them have interesting or useful information related to your chosen place.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer Users: If the pop-up window was blocked, try holding down the Ctrl button while clicking on the button
- From the resulting list, select a Web link by clicking on it
- The browser will navigate to the source Website and the Web address will be listed in the Web address field of your browser.
- If you are satisfied with this Website, copy down the full Web address.
- If the Web address of the image is too long, it might be easier to just keep the window with the Web address open until you need it in STEP 6. You can then just copy and paste it where it's required!
- After choosing a Web link and copying down its Web URL (or keeping the Website window open), go to STEP 6: MAP MY CHOSEN PLACE FOR EVERYONE TO SEE
