- Type in a Map Title.
- Choose the desired Map Placement relative to the legend. For example, position the map to the Left, Right, Above, or Below the legend. Choose the None option to exclude a legend.
Note, a check ( ) is placed next to the Recommended Placement, which in the example below positions the map to the left of the legend. The recommended placement is based on the size of the map image.

- Note the Paper Size (Letter) and Orientation (Portrait) for the Map Placement you have chosen
- Select the Make Map button to generate the map.
- Before printing, Go to File > Page Setup to open the Page Setup window. Make sure the Paper Size and Orientation settings displayed in the Page Setup window match those for the Map Placement option you have chosen in this Print Map page. Otherwise the map and legend may not print on the same page. Press OK and close the Page Setup Window.
- Go to File > Print and print the map.
